Examine the Verse
1 Timothy 1:17
This verse is claimed to provide the basis of the Iglesia ni Cristo
belief in the absolute oneness of God, that the only true God is the Father in heaven;
The Father is the Lord God Almighty, the Creator of all things;
God is Spirit, eternal, immortal and invisible.

  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible,
to God who alone is wise,
be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

(1 Timothy 1:17,  New King James Version)

  Iglesia ni Cristo belief in God and Jesus Christ:
Iglesia ni Cristo believes in the absolute oneness of God, that "the Only True God is the Father" in heaven; The Father is the Lord God Almighty, the Creator of all things. God is Spirit, eternal, immortal and invisible; He is the God and Father of Jesus Christ and His Apostles; and that of Moses,
Abraham and the ancient Israelites.
Iglesia ni Cristo believes that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. As the Son of God,
Jesus is a Man.  However, Jesus is not an ordinary man but a "very special Man",
who was sanctified; made Lord, Christ, Savior, Mediator and Judge by God.

  Apostle's admonition, warning and unique way of teaching:
1. No prophecy of scripture is a matter of personal interpretation. (II Pt. 1:20, NAB)
2. Do not go beyond  what is written. (I Cor. 4:6, NIV)
 3. We do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit,
using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. (1 Cor. 2:13, NLT)

  Points to Consider:
  1.  Notice that In the above verses, the Apostle clearly said "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen". Thus Apostle Paul clearly said that God is  "eternal, immortal, invisible".
2.  Why is God eternal?
In Psalms 90:20, the is written: Before the mountains were created, before you made the earth and the world, you are God, without beginning or end. (New Living Translation)
3.   Why is God immortal?
In Romans 1:23, this is written: "Instead of honoring the divine greatness of God, who lives forever, they traded it for the worship of idols—things made to look like humans, who get sick and die, or like birds, animals, and snakes." (Easy to Read Version)
4. Why is God invisible?

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.  (John 1:18, NKJV)

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.' (John 4:24, KJV)

"See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." (Luke 24:39, NAS)

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (King James Version)
