Examine the Verse
2 Peter 1:1
This verse is cited as implying support to the Trinitarian belief that Jesus Christ is God the eternal second person God the Son who took on a human body and nature and became
both man and God.
Thus, Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God simultaneously.

Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
(2 Peter 1:1, New King James Version)

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
(2 Peter 1:1, King James Version)

Trinitarian Belief in God and Jesus Christ:
Trinitarians believe in the Trinity, that God is the "Triune God"
existing as three persons
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, but one being. All three are
eternal with no beginning. M
embers of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal,
one in essence, nature, power, action, and will.
Trinitarians believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal second person "God the Son",
who took on a human body and nature and became both man and God.
Thus is Jesus is fully man and fully God simultaneously.

Apostle's admonition, warning and unique way of teaching:
1. No prophecy of scripture is a matter of personal interpretation. (II Pt. 1:20, NAB)
2. Do not go beyond  what is written. (I Cor. 4:6, NIV)
 3. We do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit,
using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. (1 Cor. 2:13, NLT)

  Points to Consider:
  1.  Please take a closer look at how the verses 2 Peter 1:1-2, are written in the following versions of the Bible:

1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ,  To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
(New King James Version)

Notice: In Verse-1 - God and Savior appears to refer to Jesus only.
In Verse-2 - God is distinct or separate from Jesus or Lord.

1Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:  2Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
(King James Version)

Notice: In Verse-1 - God and Savior appears to be separate.
In Verse-2 - God is distinct or separate from Jesus or Lord.

2.  How, then, can the above verse, 2 Peter Verse-1, be interpreted to mean that "Jesus is God" when in Verse-2 God is distinct or separate from Jesus our Lord?
3.  If "Jesus is God" in the above verse (2 Peter 1:1), who then, is the "God and Father of Jesus" that Apostle Peter is clearly and unmistakably referring to in 1 Peter 1:3
