"I came to
know the living God" |

Catholic, (altar boy) |
Former Religion:
Born a Catholic, I became an altar boy at the age of eight and
continued performing as such until 1977. I was in a boarding
school then of the Guardian Angel High School in Goa, India.
Because the boarding school was administered by priests, I was I
forced to be an altar boy when, in fact, I had no desire of
becoming one and I just had to fulfill my duties as I was told
to by the priest. . . . I was told to believe in the
statues, pray to them, and recite the novena or the chain
prayer, as it is called. . . . My duty as an altar boy ended
when I went abroad, to Abu Dhabi. . . .
Iglesia ni Cristo:
What I experienced then surprised me. This worship service was
different from the Catholic Mass. The teachings were clear,
unlike those of the Catholic Church. . . . . The Bible teaches
of only one God and this is what the Iglesia ni Cristo
upholds. In this religion, too, the doctrine of salvation is
clearly explained. . . . . I was not able to attend another
worship service in Doha because I went on a holiday to the
Philippines for five days. . . . attend the English
worship service in Quiapo Locale. During the worship service, I
really felt that God was there. Again, the teachings were
clear and. the hymns of praises were very meaningful.
